The Strawbs
are viewed by the British public as one of the most respected and pioneering folk rock bands of their era. At their peak in the 1970s they spent over a year in the Billboard album charts in the States and toured regularly with the likes of the Eagles, Santana, and King Crimson.
The definitive 'All Music Guide' describes Dave Cousins' songs as "fairly resounding of both rebellion and antiquity, as though he were writing protest songs of the 18th or 19th centuries".
